Travel Texas

Posted on October 26, 2022October 26, 2022 by admin

In Texas, there’s always something fun and exciting to do and there’s ALWAYS great food! I know the saying is everything in Texas is bigger but that’s not entirely true; the cost of some of these awesome experiences is NOT always big. There’s Texas-size fun on the cheap y’all! (Ya, I actually do say “y’all” for real).

I live in San Antonio and I adore this city. According to the most recent U.S Census data, San Antonio is the seventh-largest city in the country with around 1.5 million residents (TNS). More people moved to San Antonio than anywhere else in the country between 2020 and 2021. I can’t say that thrills me because of the added traffic but that’s a different topic. Blah. While we do have our share of traffic, the city is easy to get around and doesn’t feel that big which is awesome.

San Antonio is only about an hour and a half south of Austin where there are even more awesome things to do. Between the two cities is the Guadalupe River where you can float down the river in innertubes or make a stop at the essential and always awesome Buc-ee’s. Only at Buc-ee’s can you “potty like a rock star” and see the most incredible selection of jerky you’ve ever seen.

Yup, that’s ALLLLLLLLL jerky.

Head south a couple of easy hours and BOOM, you’re in Corpus Christi for some beach fun. Head a little further south and you’re at my happy place, Mustang Island. Keep going a bit more and check out the sea turtle releases when they’re in season at Padre Island National Park. The turtles are so cuuuute!

Let’s check out some cool stuff y’all!
